We're looking for a volunteer assistant team leader to support our team leader and volunteers on upcoming trips abroad. Do you fit the bill, or do you know someone who might? Read on for more information.
We are taking a group of volunteers abroad to live and work in Ghana for two weeks this August, and we need an experienced assistant team leader to join the team and help make the trip a rewarding, safe, and enjoyable success.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has previous experience of working with groups from a variety of different backgrounds, preferably on trips abroad. If you're well travelled and culturally aware and sensitive, then this will be hugely beneficial. The role is expected to last up to six weeks.
What you'll do
The role will require you to attend our head office for a couple of hours per week in the two weeks prior to departure, so you can participate in and assist with the volunteers' pre-departure training. There will then be the trip to Africa itself, and upon return you will be expected to support the volunteers in post-trip support for a couple of hours per week over two weeks.
The role is unpaid, but all expenses, including transport, accommodation, airfares, visas, food, and vaccinations will be provided for you.
How do I get started?
If you can commit the time and expertise to helping us to offer a life-changing experience for our volunteers, then we'd love to hear from you. You can express your interest in this exciting opportunity by emailing start@standinternational.org, or speak to us for more information by calling us on 0131 659 9943.
